BabyBaby Breastfeeding Pillows - Review

Feeding Pillow Kits
Well it's been a while since we reviewed one of our products, so what better way to kick start our reviews again then with the Babybaby Breastfeeding pillow!

These pillows are what kick started our venture into online retail and was the first ever product that we stocked. Since then we have added more, but will only ever stock the Babybaby range of feeding pillows!

With my two older children I could never get comfortable breastfeeding, I tried various pillows, but nothing that really worked for me. You name it, I tried it. When my third son was born I came across the Babybaby pillow and have never looked back.

It was also after my third child was born that I decided I wanted to teach antenatal classes. I started by helping out with Parent's Centre classes as a convenor & it was during those classes that I started pointing people towards the Babybaby pillows. Never one to pass up an opportunity I decided to contact Babybaby directly who offered me the opportunity to get a free pillow. All I had to do was sell 10 pillows! Well needless to say, it didn't take long and the rest is history as they say.

The original pillow (Love this picture)
What I love is the unique 'U' shape of the feeding pillow and how it moulds to baby and mother, easily, comfortably and correctly. It's filled with polystyrene beans, which are encased in there own inner, this means you control the height and comfort of the pillow and also means that if the outer gets dirty you can whip it off and throw it in the wash.

The pillows are also great for establishing correct feeding position for mother and baby. Breastfeeding can be tricky at first and the pillow can help to ensure you are in a good position for feeding. Part of what I do is help mothers who struggle with breastfeeding and I could not recommend a better pillow to help them.

One of the recently introduced Decor Range Pillows
Some little unknown facts about the manufacturing of the pillows - quoted direct from the supplier (just another reason why we love them)...

"Our feeding Pillows are all hand made in New Zealand and are lovingly crafted in totally smoke free environments. We employ local sewers who are mothers and grandmothers who have perfected their craft and enjoy creating our pillows for our precious customers. By purchasing a babybaby feeding pillow not only are your customers supporting their own physical health by supporting their posture while their baby is in the correct position for breastfeeding;  they are also supporting NZ women working from home.  We have implemented a strict quality control program and  back all our products with a 100% money back guarantee. Our sewers take complete pride in their work which we are very proud of.  The key here is unlike other breast feeding support pillows, we are a local company, supporting local women. We have never manufactured offshore."

And the best part about these pillows? You can either keep them for your next child, sell them second-hand (they have great resell value) or like my younger kids, currently 6 and 2, use the pillows for seats and general play!!! So go on and check them out!

Website Updated!

It's been a while coming , but we have decided to move to a content management style website. With an ever increasing range we decided that it was time to make a chance as the old website was very labour intensive, chewing up time  keeping it up to date and adding new products.

Our new website is now live and packed full of new feature, not to mention new products.  By moving to this style website we are able to better track inventory, orders and continue to add new products to our range ensuring that Customer Service is still our number one focus. It also allows us to more time to research and source new products to add.

One of the key considerations when making the change was to improve the shopping experience for you our valued customers. We have jammed packed our website with many new features including
  • Create an account for faster checkout
  • Order history & tracking
  • Add products to a wish-list
  • Ability to compare products & features
  • Write reviews to any products
  • Track returns
  • Plus much more...
We are sure you will enjoy the experience and as always we welcome your feedback. We are also working on adding more products to the range over the next couple of months, so make sure you stay tuned. I also intend to use the blog a bit more and give you some background into the new products we have added, and will be adding in the future.

New Birth Power Logo

It's been a while since I posted on our blog, so I thought I would share the story about our logo.

Since we started in 2008 we have never really had a logo for Birth Power. This was partly due to keeping our start up costs down. However this year an opportunity presented itself that was too good to turn down.

When the Christchurch earthquake struck, there was a lot of damage and death. We have friends in Christchurch and my husband travels down there on a regular basis for work. So we wanted to contribute in someway. As you know many New Zealanders rallied around to help & support those affected by the Christchurch earthquake, including a group formed on facebook Christchurch Charity Auctions. The idea was that businesses donated goods & services and these would be auctioned on trademe with all the profit going to the Red Cross. One of those business to donate there services was Emily from Designem.  She kindly donated her time for a logo package.

We saw this as the perfect way of not only getting a new logo but allowing us, as a small business, to donate to those in Christchurch during there time of need.
The end result is we have a fantastic logo and have donated to Christchurch at the same time.

The overall donation made from the auctions was over $10,000.
